Midwest Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine — affiliated with Midwest Regional Medical Center and located in Midwest City, OK — has been providing exceptional wound care services to patients in Central Oklahoma since 2004.

“I am extremely proud of our staff and the way we take a team approach with referring physicians and ancillary departments to achieve a healing rate that exceeds 91%,” says Elaine Soter, M.D., Medical Director of Midwest Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.

Midwest Wound Care is partnered with Diversified Clinical Services, the largest wound care management company in the country. The partnership, along with the company’s clinical practice guidelines, allows them to boast a patient satisfaction rate of 97% and an over 92% healing rate. The success of the clinic has allowed Midwest Wound Care to be utilized as a National Mentor Center for other Diversified Clinical Services clinics around the country.

The Midwest Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Difference

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 24 million Americans are diabetic, and 6.5 million of these patients suffer from nonhealing, chronic wounds that can severely impact their quality of life and require intensive interventions, such as amputation if not addressed in a timely manner.

Midwest Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine works with referring physicians to accommodate all referrals as soon as possible, and develop a treatment plan that will best meet each patient’s needs. Offering advanced healing therapies and multidisciplinary care not readily available in most primary care offices, services available include debridement, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, dressing selection, patient education and specialized footwear.

For approximately 10% to 20% of wound care patients, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a valid choice when other treatment modalities have been exhausted. Midwest Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine is the only hyperbaric medicine program in the state of Oklahoma awarded a Level II with Distinction accreditation by the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society. In addition, all hyperbaric oxygen therapy staff members are accredited in hyperbaric medicine.

Recognized for Excellence

Midwest Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine was recently awarded the Center of Distinction Award for 2009 by Diversified Clinical Services, which places Midwest Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine in the top 20% of its 300 wound care centers across the country.

“We’re honored,” says Brad Crow, M.B.A., Program Director of Midwest Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. “It’s a privilege to be part of a great collaborative effort between the hospital and Diversified Clinical Services. Together, we are able to heal patients in our community, getting them back to living happy, healthy lives.”

Midwest Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine accepts a variety of insurance plans, including TriCare, TriCare for Life and Generations.
